Here are a few simple ways to help make Christmas more environmentally friendly and show “Goodwill to our Earth”
- Shop local – Shopping close to home reduces travel time and supports local businesses.
- Plan to drive less – Once you are at a shopping location, purchase your holiday items all at once to reduce the number of times you need to drive. Plan your trip to visit as many stores as possible in the same area.
- Shop from home – Consider purchasing gifts from the Internet rather than driving anywhere at all. The added bonus is less parking hassles!
- Reduce shipping – Purchase items that are made closer to where you live to reduce the amount of time an item is spent in transport.
